Welcome to the Grounded Farm Wife Blog- 20 Things About Me

Welcome to the first Grounded Farm Wife Blog!!!

What better way to start of the blog by introducing you to me. Here’s your chance to get to know 20 things about me.

1.       I love Cadbury chocolate. There is no better chocolate than Cadbury. If you are an international reader and have never tried Cadbury, send me your address. I will happily send you some so you can see what I am talking about. If you are an Aussie and disagree, I will simply say you are wrong.

2.       I tried to learn how to drive a manual car and I crashed the driving instructor’s car. Stephen has tried to teach me how and it just doesn’t work.

3.       I am 149cm tall. This is part of the reason it’s so hard for me to drive a manual. I usually can’t reach to push the clutch all the way in.

4.       I failed my first law class at university. It was contract law and classes were 8am on Monday morning and 4pm on Friday afternoon. It was designed to weed out those who couldn’t hack it. I repeated the next year and passed.

5.       I want to be a gardener. I love the idea of having a beautiful garden and growing my own food. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be a skill I have or maybe I just don’t commit the time that it requires.

6.       I am an avid reader, and my favourite books are fantasy. It started when I as younger with Harry Potter. In my teenage years it was epic fantasy like the Wheel of Time and The Name of the Wind.  Now it is the ACOTAR series, Fourth Wing and the Half-Light City series.

7.       I am not a morning person. That is all there is to be said on that.

8.       Baking is my stress relief. I put on music and start baking and it just absorbs me. I can feel my stress drifting away as I mix batter and stir in chocolate chips.

9.       Wild Turkey Honey and cola is my drink of choice.

10.   I have never been lonelier than I felt as a new mum. Finding my village took many years. When I discovered that I could build a village online it changed my world. For those who are yet to find their village check out Motherland.

11.   I am an introvert and while I love going places and making connections, I need time after to sit and recover.

12.   I am either a ‘get three days worth of work done today’ person or a ‘sit and watch Netflix for the whole day’ kind of person.

13.   My indoor plants reflect my state of mind. Happy plants = I am on top of things and thriving. Sad plants = life is overwhelming me, and I need to take a break

14.   I thrive on routine but am also the person who finds library books that are a year overdue hiding in my house.

15.   I have always wanted to be a runner but never put the effort in. Maybe this can be a future goal?

16.   I am passionate about women in rural communities finding the life that suits them best.

17.   I am all about the seasons of life and accepting where you are right now.

18.   I love podcasts and wish I had discovered them sooner. There will be many blogs with podcast recommendations coming.

19.   I have tried many washing routines and none of them stick. So now its basically when we run out of clothes, I wash 10 loads in one day.

20.   I am a perfectionist and over analyse everything. So, with that being the last one I am going to post this before I think about it too much.

Look forward to having you join me here at the Grounded Farm Wife Blog.

Do we have anything in common or are we totally different? Let me know.
